Traditional Sausages (Butifarra) in Wine

4 Traditional Sausages (butifarra)
100 grs of bacon
1 medium-sized onion
200 grs of carrots
Chopped parsley
A little branch of thyme
1 cup of Mureda Merlot Wine
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 garlic
Milled Pepper


Peel the onion and the garlic, in very little pieces. Take the rind of the bacon of and chop them. Scrape the skin of the carrots, wash them and cut them in fine slices. Heat up the olive oil in a casserole and fry lightly the onion and the garlic until they become transparent. Add the bacon and fry them lightly during 5 minutes. Add the carrots, the parsley, the thyme and the wine. Put the lid on and cook them lightly during 10 minutes. Meanwhile, poke the traditional sausages (butifarra) several times with a needle or the tip of the knife and brown them in a pan. Mix the butifarra with the content of the casserole and cook them at high heat until the liquid evaporates and becomes a sauce.
